officer preparedness classes
We conducted an officer test preparation class on September 29, 30 and October 1. Once again we decided to bring in Thomas Rockhill of Rockhill-Halton Inc. to conduct the class. We have had an excellent pass rate in the past on promotion tests, and hope to continue the streak. Several members took advantage of this benefit that your union offers. Gallery
tailgating with huntington beach union members
As many of you know we hosted the Huntington Beach Firefighter Association Local 3354 for a tailgate for the Georgia-Troy football game. Every year HBFA votes on a city to visit and attend that cities sporting events. This year Atlanta won the vote. They attended a Falcons game Thursday, a Braves game Friday and the Dawgs on Saturday. Thanks to Mike Moon and his hard work cooking and acquiring some spaces at Tailgate Station, we were able to show these California brothers a great time. See the photos in our gallery.

Home Delivered Meals
The Home Delivered Meals program is one of the services provided by the Athens Community Council on Aging. The Home Delivered Meals program helps foster independent living and prevents premature or unnecessary institutionalization of disabled and older adults. We are able to provide three types of meals; hot, frozen, and shelf stable meals. All the meals delivered are designed to provide one-third of an adult’s daily nutritional requirements and are suitable for diabetic diets. Menus are developed by a Registered Dietitian and prepared according to the nutritional needs of older adults.
We have an ongoing commitment to provide volunteers to unload a truck full of food and to help organize it for delivery to some of Athen's senior citizens. This takes place once a month and usually last about 2 to 3 hours starting around 7:30 in the morning on the day selected. To be made aware of future opportunities to help, contact Nathan Moss.
